About Inlet Beach & Walton County

Rosemary Beach is unincorporated Walton County, not a city, so the rules on a tree there come in layers. The first layer is private. Rosemary Beach says its Regulating Plan, Urban Regulations, Architectural Regulations, Landscaping Regulations and Design Review Procedures, together called the Code, govern the development, construction and maintenance of dwellings, buildings and improvements. The Property Owners Association administers and enforces the Declaration and the Code, and the Town Architect is responsible for compliance with the Code. Because the Code reaches landscaping and maintenance, ask the Town Architect's office whether a removal or a hard pruning needs review before anyone climbs. The association also posts a 2026 No Workdays list on its website, so ask which dates are closed to outside crews.

Public debris is the county's layer. Walton County began storm debris pickup on October 14, working along the public right-of-way, with debris placed within about 10 feet of the road and sorted by type. The Walton County Sheriff's Office says the debris trucks work in incorporated and unincorporated areas and in private and gated communities. Its page does not mention a right-of-entry form and does not say how the county treats debris a tree crew cuts, so ask before you count on the road.

The tree line is coastal. UF/IFAS Extension describes pine, oak and magnolia as common in the Panhandle's coastal forests, shortened and twisted by salt spray. The town's alley system and carriage houses put buildings close together, and the trees in its courtyards, lawns and alleys stand near roofs, balconies and neighbors. Seaward of the beach the dune plants are a different matter, covered by the state dune rules described below.

Services We Provide in Inlet Beach

In Inlet Beach and Rosemary Beach the work is storm takedowns, trees and limbs off roofs, balconies and carriage houses, and pines and oaks rigged down piece by piece over fences, boardwalks and neighbors. The crew also trims storm-damaged crowns, removes cracked and leaning trees, and grinds stumps. Josh moves the cut wood and brush to the road where pickup allows it, and a big job can get haul-off through a sub, quoted on its own.
