About Blue Mountain Beach & Walton County

Blue Mountain Beach runs along 30A with Gulf-side lots to the south and smaller neighborhoods to the north. The houses are a mix of older beach places, newer homes and vacation rentals, set close to the oaks, pines and palms that were here first: sand live oaks bent by the wind, slash and sand pines, southern magnolias and cabbage palms. Lots are small and the trees stand close to roofs, to the overhead lines along 30A and to the narrow beach-access streets, so there is seldom room to drop a limb and a climber rigs each piece down on lines. Salt spray and sandy soil keep roots shallow, so after a hurricane soaks the ground a tree can lose its grip with no sign above ground.

The first question here is who has a say. Unlike the master-planned communities farther east along 30A, Blue Mountain Beach is a patchwork: some streets belong to small subdivisions with their own associations and some lots have none, so check your deed or closing documents before you assume either way. Where there is no association, Walton County is the main authority, and lots close to the dunes or the coastal dune lakes can fall under state or county coastal rules, so confirm with the county before a healthy tree comes down. Plenty of houses here are vacation rentals, so a removal often has to fit around guest check-in and check-out days.

Services We Provide in Blue Mountain Beach

In Blue Mountain Beach the work is storm-damaged oaks and pines taken down in sections over beach-house and rental roofs, decks and fences, limbs cut off driveways and access streets, crowns trimmed back from buildings, leaning and cracked trees removed before the next storm, and stumps ground out. Josh cuts the tree and moves the debris to the road. Cleanup and haul-off are extra and quoted by Josh, and haul-off happens only on big jobs, through a sub.
