Tree Service in Sandestin, FL

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the large planned resort community inside Miramar Beach, in Walton County, running from the Gulf-side beach across US 98 to Choctawhatchee Bay and the Baytowne Wharf village. It is a mix of single-family neighborhoods, condominium buildings, townhomes and rental units, with golf fairways and wooded common land between them. Hurricane Isaias came ashore at Destin as a Category 2 storm on October 9, 2026, to the west along the coast, and the pines and live oaks that give Sandestin its shade took the wind. Reed Tree Service is based in Tallahassee, and our climbing crew is working the Emerald Coast now. Call Josh at (850) 888-5603 and he will tell you whether the crew can get to your Sandestin address.

Sandestin is east of where Hurricane Isaias came ashore at Destin. Josh is taking calls for storm-damaged trees here while the crew is on the Emerald Coast. Storm damage on the Emerald Coast? About Sandestin & Walton County

Sandestin covers land on both sides of US 98. On the Gulf side are beach condominiums and cottages in dune scrub, where salt spray and wind shape slash pines, sand pines, sand live oaks and cabbage palms. The bay side is wooded, with fairways lined by pines and live oaks, southern magnolias in the yards and lots backing onto Choctawhatchee Bay. Sand holds little water and gives roots a shallow, wide grip, so after a hurricane soaks the ground, big pines and oaks tend to tip at the root plate rather than snap, and a tree still standing is not always a sound one.

Almost every tree here answers to someone. Planned communities like Sandestin usually layer their rules: a neighborhood or condo association, sometimes a resort-wide owners association, and an architectural review board (ARB) or design committee that wants to approve changes to the landscape, healthy trees included. A tree that is already down or an obvious danger is usually a faster conversation than a healthy one you just want gone, but ask in writing either way. Find out what the board or the management company needs to see, such as written approval, a description of the work, a named contact on site or gate access for the truck, and Josh will describe the job in plain terms for you to pass along. Walton County's rules apply on top of the association's.

Services We Provide in Sandestin

In Sandestin the work is storm-damaged pines and oaks taken down in sections over condo, townhome and house roofs, trees cleared off drives and private community roads, leaning and cracked trees removed before the next storm, crowns trimmed back from buildings, and stumps ground out. Climbers rig big pieces down so nothing lands on balconies, parked cars or a neighbor's unit. Josh cuts the tree and moves the debris to the road. Cleanup and haul-off are extra and quoted by Josh, and haul-off happens only on big jobs, through a sub.
